The Bright Foun­da­tion is pleased to announce that it has expand­ed its Lois Dale Schol­ar­ship to include stu­dents from all five com­pre­hen­sive high schools in Des Moines. The schol­ar­ship is a need- and mer­it-based grant that hon­ors out­stand­ing high school seniors, ensur­ing they have the finan­cial means to com­plete a two- or four-year col­lege edu­ca­tion with­out accu­mu­lat­ing debt. Pre­vi­ous­ly, the schol­ar­ship was only avail­able to grad­u­ates of East High School. 

This year’s Lois Dale Schol­ar­ship recip­i­ents include:

• Dayan­na Mar­tinez-Soto – Uni­ver­si­ty of Iowa

On May 9, 2018, the Bright Foun­da­tion held a recep­tion for Lois Dale Schol­ar­ship recip­i­ents. Schol­ars hon­ored in 2016, 2017 and 2018 attend­ed the event along with fam­i­ly and guests of the newest recip­i­ents. Bright Foun­da­tion board mem­bers wel­comed the stu­dents and shared infor­ma­tion about the foun­da­tion. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from all five high schools were also in atten­dance. Dur­ing the event, remarks were pro­vid­ed by the following:
